Dutch defender Pascal Struijkscored a late goal to secure a point for Leeds United at home to Brighton and Hove Albion thus aiding their bid to secure Premier League safety at the end of this season. Struijk scored a late header to ensured that hosts Leeds United and Brighton shared the spoils via a 1-1 draw. With the draw, Leeds United were able to halt a run of three successive Premier League defeats.


Leeds United were on a good run of five Premier League games without defeat before a three-game losing run began with the 4-0 loss at the hands of visitors Manchester City. Dutchman Nathan Ake was one of the goalscorers for the Premier League holders. The losing run was extended to two games with the 2-1 defeat at Arsenal with ten men after stand-in skipper and former Gunners player Luke Ayling was sent off shortly after Eddie Nketiah completed his brace for the North Londoners. Former England junior international Nketiah scored twice for hosts Arsenal in the first half before Spanish defender Diego Llorente pulled one back forthe Whites in the second half to make it a nervous end to the game for the Gunners.
