The Telegraph is reporting that London clubs Chelsea and Arsenal are both highly interested in Snapping up Inter Milan’s brilliant defender Achraf Hakimi in the summer. Hakimi only joined Inter from Spanish La Liga giants Real Madrid last summer in a £34 million move but has constantly been linked with a move away from Italy due to the fine performances he has been putting in for Antonio Conte’s side.
While Arsenal’s interest in Hakimi is getting more concrete because of Hector Bellerin’s uncertain future, it is not yet understood why Chelsea are in the picture because they already have club captain Cesar Azpilicueta and Reece James to battle it out for the right-back spot. It could be, however, that the Blues are preparing for life after Spanish defender Azpilicueta, which explains their strong interest in the Moroccan defender.
Whether or not Chelsea or Arsenal could be convincing enough in making Inter part ways with their star defender is yet to be seen, but the fact remains that any club that is lucky enough to snap up Hakimi from Inter Milan will be getting themselves a jewel.
The former Real Madrid man is a quick player who contributes massively in attack and will be a lethal weapon for any club he joins in the summer. He may well also choose to remain at Inter as he has always expressed that he’s happy there.
