It is expected to be a busy summer transfer window for clubs across Europe and Chelsea will not be exempted. Blues manager Thomas Tuchel is reportedly keen to get a couple of new signings to the club and will be expected to strengthen some key departments in the squad, including the defensive department and especially the attacking department.
The German manager is currently enjoying life at Stamford Bridge and is yet to taste defeat since being appointed as the new manager of the club following the sacking of former manager Frank Lampard, and according to reports, even though he is happy with his current crop of players, it will not stop him from venturing into the transfer market and get the players he wants at the club.
Despite the Blues enjoying a fine run of form in their last couple of matches, one thing they have been lacking is enough goals; something the former Paris Saint-Germain manager will want to change as soon as possible.
One of the major names on the list of transfer targets Tuchel will want at Chelsea is Borussia Dortmund’s striker Erling Haaland. The Norwegian striker is on the transfer wish-list of a number of European clubs and Chelsea are one of them.
The arrival of Tuchel was said to be a saving grace for Timo Werner’s career at Stamford Bridge but the Germany international striker has remained as blunt in front of goal as how he was under Lampard. His lack of confidence and threat in the Blues attack means he may likely have to spend more time on the Substitutes’ bench next season if he does not improve his game.
If Haaland arrives at Stamford Bridge next season, that could also signal the departure of Olivier Guroud and Tammy Abraham from the club.
