Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham has been linked with an unsurprising move away from the club, according to reports. The English striker has fallen out of favor with manager Thomas Tuchel and it does not look like he will regain his spot in the first team, with the German manager preferring to go with Timo Werner in his attack. Abraham was a star player under Frank Lampard until he lost his place in the team after the arrival of Werner, and since then, he has been unable to convince the past and current managers that he can be the starting striker.
Abraham’s lack of playing time at Chelsea has come under question due to Werner’s inconsistencies this season. The German striker is currently ensuring a poor season and has faltered for the majority of the campaign so far, and a lot of people have wondered why Tuchel has not decided to give the academy product a chance. Having spent the last two seasons on loan at Championship side Aston Villa, he had a breakthrough campaign where he scored a handful of goals that helped them secure promotion to the Premier League.
He has been linked with a return to Villa Park and Dean Smith is expected to fancy the striker’s return to the club. German Bundesliga clubs Hertha Berlin and Bayer Leverkusen have also been mentioned as of the likely clubs he could join in the summer, but it remains to be seen if he would move to Germany or choose to remain in England instead.
