Belgium international Eden Hazard has said that Christian Pulisic can become a star with Chelsea. The United States international made the switch to the Blues from Borussia Dortmund during the winter transfer window but the terms of the agreement meant that the attacker spent the second half of the season on loan with the Bundesliga side.
Pulisic was initially expected to join the Blues for pre-season training at the end of July, but he made the surprise decision to link up with the team within one week after the completion of the Gold Cup. Owing to this, he has already earned the plaudits from new manager Frank Lampard and it remains to be seen whether he can make the impact on the field, where he has been fancied to take up the left-wing role vacated by the departure of Hazard.
Chelsea have experienced a mixed run of results during the pre-season games and they have accumulated just two victories from four matches. Still, there have been positives in terms of the performances of the young graduates and the likes of Mason Mount and Tammy Abraham have already earned praise from the head coach.
The Capital outfit have three more friendlies against Reading, Red Bull Salzburg and Borussia Monchengladbach to tackle before they begin their Premier League campaign against Manchester United on the road. The Blues have generally fared well against the Red Devils over the past decade and it will be interesting to see whether they can produce another positive result despite not being able to spend this summer due to a transfer ban.
