Ferguson has had a bad time with injuries since he became a Crystal Palace player at the start of last season. The defender recently returned to full fitness only for him to suffer a setback with a hamstring injury. While giving an update on the hamstring injury earlier this month, Palace boss Patrick Vieira told reporters that Ferguson won’t return to action until April at least as he was ruled out for five to six weeks.

In addition to Ferguson, Palace will also be without first-choice right-back Joel Ward who’s carrying a knock. The injury forced him to miss the late defeat at home to Chelsea on Saturday with Ex-Liverpool and Southampton man Nathaniel Clynedeputising for him at right-back. Clyne is expected to deputise for him again ahead of the trip to face the Hornets.

Watford also have injury problems of their own as four players could miss the Palace game. Nigerian midfielder OghenekaroEtebo is lacking match fitness after a lengthy injury layoff and he could left out of the squad for the game, while Cameroonian defender Nicolas Nkoulou will miss the game as he continues his recovery from a thigh injury. In his pre-match chat with media practitioners ahead of the 1-0 away win over Aston Villa last week, new Watford manager Roy Hodgson said that Nkoulou is hoping to join first-team training at the start of next month.

The duo of Slovakian midfielder JurajKuckaand Brazilian attacker Joao Pedro will have to pass respective late fitness tests to determine their availability for the Palace game.
