It was a day to remember for the world of football and especially fans of Manchester United as the Red Devils shocked the football world with the re-signing of their former player and one of the greatest players to have ever graced the game, Cristiano Ronaldo. United confirmed on Friday afternoon that they had reached an agreement with Italian Serie A giants Juventus for the transfer of the superstar forward in what was an unexpected move by the English Premier League giants just a few hours after a lot of people believed that Ronaldo was heading to the other club in Manchester.

Ronaldo reportedly made his intention known to Juventus that he was ready to leave the club after receiving a lot of criticism during his time in Turin and Juventus manager, Maximiliano Allegro confirmed the reports. Allegro revealed that Ronaldo walked up to him on Thursday evening after the club’s training session to let him know of his desire to quit Juve and to look for another club.

On Friday morning, Ronaldo arrived at Juventus’ training ground but it was not in his plans to join in the sessions. Instead, he went to the training ground to bid his teammates at the Italian club farewell ahead of his possible exit from the Old Lady. Shortly after leaving the training ground, it was gathered that he was going to sign for Manchester City and reports claimed that his agent, Jorge Mendes, had offered him to Pep Guardiola’s men.

However, there was a new twist to the story as United eventually intervened in the transfer race and the Red Devils didn’t need to do much as they convinced their former star that they would like to take him back. He has agreed to a two-year deal which will run until June 2023.
